Rapidshare, megaupload, Divshare, Limelinx, Zshare...so many options

Sunday, November 30, 2008 13

I spend a lot of time online searching for music (I buy music as well) and I have used every download engine known to man haha. I was wondering which engine do you use to download and upload files?

I prefer Rapidshare (I have a premium account holla if you want to be down), ZShare, Limelinx, and Megaupload. I upload my files to Zshare, Limelinx, and Divshare. Zshare is great to share files but the images of half naked women take away from the music haha (Zshare also goes offline a lot), Limelinx is also a nice place to upload files but it is not as professional as Zshare. Finally I use Divshare to upload files, Divshare gives me the option to either post the download link or the track with a play option.

hehe...Plaxico just gained some serious street cred...haha

Saturday, November 29, 2008 3

Chad should learn something from Plaxico Burress haha accidentally shoot yourself in the thigh. Not only will you gain street credibility but you will be the laughingstock of the NFL. When I read the headlines this morning I reverted back to when Sean Taylor was shot. I was like wow people these days do not care about another man/woman's life but then a headline stated that Plax accidentally shot himself and I am thinking wow "that is not gangsta." I do not have any idea of what led to the accidentally shooting but I could not help but picture Plax as Mr. Bean shooting himself hahahahaha. GET WELL SOON Plaxico

Happy Thanksgiving to all...today I had to work but it was great spreading the spirit of joy and generosity with the youth today. I am thankful that God allowed me to wake up this morning and hopefully I will get to experience more holidays. Take the time to tell friends, family, and more that you appreciate them being in your life and that you love them.

Salut,

Bob Stoops is the man...

Saturday, November 22, 2008 1

I am watching Oklahoma put a spanking on Texas Tech 52 to 7. Wow talk about overrated good God, no but honestly the week off hurt Texas Tech who before the bye week were rolling. Should I praise OU's defense for stopping the juggernaut Red Raiders offense or should I praise Stoops for having his team pumped up? Over the past few years Mr. Stoops has been criticized for not being able to beat Top 25 teams, well that theory is gone haha.

WOW...on a side note how did Syracuse beat Notre Dame haha?

Dj Premier and Luda...

Friday, November 21, 2008 2

I can't wait until Theater of the Mind drops (next Monday). His versatility and ability to appeal to a variety of fans makes him a legend in my book. T.I. may be the self proclaimed King of the South but Ludacris gives him a run for his money. Scarface is my favorite emcee from the Southern region of America followed closely by Ludacris and T.I. (I'm talking commercial based artists). Enjoy the video and cop the album on Monday!!

Ludacris - M.V.P. (prod. by Dj Premier)

When worst comes to worst, my peoples comes first...

If I could make a compilation of theme music to describe my various moods then this track would make the cut. Dilated Peoples are one of my favorite groups and I love how they are able to cover every inch of the spectrum by remaining relative to the times and more. Some may blast the group for their lack of emotion while rhyming but I love what they represent and their display of lyricism. Oh by the way please make sure you are familiar with Evidence's new EP, The Layover.

"My President is Black" by Master 3...

Saturday, November 15, 2008 1

Hello everybody I had post this insanely dope track from my homie Master 3. I do not want to spark a race debate but I will say that this expression presented by Master 3 is awesome. Obama becoming president is not only a great look for African-Americans but people worldwide and his accomplishment should serve as motivation for everyone stuck in a rut. (chants Yes We Can! Yes We Can!)

Master 3 - My President is Black

Woke up this morning, headache this big,
Up all night thinking, how big this is,
Historical moment, I witnessed it first hand,
Birth of a new day, given a new chance,
Obama for president, I couldn’t believe it,
Cuz I been saying that we would never achieve it,
“We ain’t ready,” I said, “It’ll never happen,”
But in the end, I guess his race didn’t really matter,
Beacon of hope, Grant Park packed in,
Thousands of people, united by passion,
United by something that was figured impossible,
But if I’m being honest, gotta say what we gotta do,
Cuz in history, Black history, no president ever did shit for me,
A bunch of promises he didn’t keep is all that I’ve been witnessing,
Hopefully he breaks the trend, and does what he says,
Cuz as quick as you can get it, your faith can be dead,
We got work to do, don’t stop now,
Just cuz we got silver lining don’t mean we outta the cloud,
But I’m proud, and in any case, this is a success,
And I can’t do nothing but show honor and respect,
My only wish is that our people who passed away,
Were able to witness the progress we made today,
What Martin and Malcolm fought and died for,
This is the dream here, good God, my Lord,
History in the making for all of the planet,
Brought together to change the world, correcting some damage,
All of it starts with us doing our part,
To make real all of our dreams and light up the dark,
I voted for my first time in this election,
And I’ve never been prouder of my country or complexion,
And when my kids ask, my reply is,
“America surprised us, and let a Black man guide us…”

At 10:00 pm, Central Standard Time, on Tuesday, November 4th, 2008, Senator Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States of America. And 40 years after the Civil Rights Movement, America elected a Black man president for the first time in history.

My President Is Black, we made it come true,
We can change the world and it starts with me and you,
We gotta keep progressing, continue on the trail,
Make the world better, tell our grandkids the tale,
My President Is Black, we made it come true,
We can change the world and it starts with me and you,
Done with the talking, ain’t nothing else to say,
It’s time for some action to make a brighter day,
My President Is Black...

Congratulations to the Senator, and good luck.

Hip-Hop Heads Interview with Praverb

Check it out and let me know what you think of the interview wooooooooo

Bitter Beer Face and Jake One...

Well I did not become a finalist for the Jake One contest but I still would like to thank Jake and Rhymesayers for the opportunity. Am I upset? of course but this is something that I can not control, all I can do is continue to record music you know (it is not the end of the world).

Jake One Single Contest: You Pick The Winner...make sure you vote for the winner in the contest which will conclude on the 16th...

Just Breath...and relax...I'm trying to reach "Starr Status"

Sometimes this game makes me want to go berserk but I have to stay patient and know that God has big plans for us all...Anyway I have been listening to old music and I had to spotlight my homie Kenn Starr's album Starr Status. Kenn's album features production by Illmind, Khrysis, Kev Brown, Oddisee, M-Phazes, and more. The album also features guest spots by Kweli, Supastition or Kam Moye, Asheru, Median, Sean Born, Darien Brockington, and more.

Starr Status received mixed reviews from the critics. JIVE Magazine praised the album, granting a 4 1/2 Star rating, stating "there shouldn't be any argument over Kenn Starr's status as one of the best MCs in the game." I believe that Kenn is an extremely talented emcee who has the ability to deliver messages in a conversational tone. If you want to cop Starr Status visit Halftooth Records or Kenn's myspace page

Chyea...nothing like exposing you all to dope emcees...speaking on Kenn I believe my homie is dropping an EP with Black Milk in the future...chyea

DC Hip-Hop...

Saturday, November 8, 2008 16

The Chocolate City was the embodiment of Go go and R & B, so the idea of hip hop was laid to rest. Chuck Brown, Rare Essence, and others were prominently featured throughout the city and the origins of Go go paved the way for the emergence of hip hop in the District. When I moved to Virginia years ago I had no idea D.C. would be a breeding ground for rap music especially since most of music that I heard from the District revolved around Go go or R & B singers (Nonchalant, Raheem DeVaughn etc). Most of the music that I listened to either came from Southern Virginia (Clipse for example) or the Richmond area (Skillz, Born Unique, etc). The DMV is a breeding ground for hip-hop thanks to Wale, Marky, Tabi Bonney, Ra the MC, and more. I have included a list of artists representing the DMV please feel free to add to the list.

Brandon McDonald you deserve a demotion...

Friday, November 7, 2008 0

Roasted by Eddie Royal check
beat by Daniel Graham check
beat by Brandon Marshall check

Okay I kid with the whole demotion talk but to say that B-Mac had a bad game is an understatement. Being on no man's island is a cornerback's worse dream and it happened to McDonald twice. The first touchdown that he gave up was not his fault (since he summoned for help and did not receive it) but the other two tds that he gave up were his fault. Once again Brandon McDonald I mean the defense gave away another victory. Brady looked quite sharp tonight...

Soulja Boy gives "shout out" to slave masters...

Wednesday, November 5, 2008 4
The shock statement came when BET correspondent and former Rolling Stone contributor, Touré, asked various stars which historical figure they most hated. After Soulja Boy failed to give a response, Touré tried to prompt him, saying "Others have said Hitler, bin Laden, the slave masters ... " at which point Soulja Boy said: "Oh wait! Hold up! Shout out to the slave masters! Without them we'd still be in Africa. We wouldn't be here to get this ice and tattoos."

Are you serious, this is like the ultimate act of stupidity. I know that we are all human and that we all make mistakes but wow. I understand that he is young so I will let that be his defense. On another note, congratulations to Barack Obama, who won the election last night.

NEW TRACK: Praverb - A Blogger's Dream (prod. by Jake One)

Monday, November 3, 2008 2
Hello Everyone,

The track that I have for you this week is produced by Jake One but it is for a contest. Basically I used an instrumental from "White Van Music" and created an original song (as the contest implies, submissions are due November 4th). Jake One is one of my favorite beat makers and I believe that this will probably be the closest I get to spitting on a Jake One beat.

"This track was conceived due to my disapproval with the XXL Freshmen 10 article (Mickey, Blu, Wale, B.o.B, and Cory Gunz are definitely dope), I believe that XXL could have highlighted more deserving emcees (Skyzoo, Donny Goines, Drake, Shad K., Elzhi, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Fashawn, Sha Stimuli, Wiz Khalifa, Torae, AC, Reks, Termanology, Nametag, Joe Budden, Pacific Division, and many more). I was fumbling with the idea for about a month and the article is all I needed to pen the lyrics. In the second verse I make a statment NOT a diss towards Asher Roth. The statment suggests if Asher Roth is better than Stimuli and my response is heck no. Asher is a talented emcee who has a lot of potential (he is also not afraid to reveal his background) but Stimuli is a better emcee than Asher and should have been featured over Mr. Roth (in my eyes). Sometimes marketability is the thing that saves or makes an artist more visible than the next. When I wrote the song I did not focus on winning the contest per say but instead I focused on crafting a nice song. Hopefully you will like it as much as I do" - Praverb
