Kenn's album features production by Illmind, Khrysis, Kev Brown, Oddisee, M-Phazes, and more. The album also features guest spots by Kweli, Supastition or Kam Moye, Asheru, Median, Sean Born, Darien Brockington, and more.
Starr Status received mixed reviews from the critics. JIVE Magazine praised the album, granting a 4 1/2 Star rating, stating "there shouldn't be any argument over Kenn Starr's status as one of the best MCs in the game."
