my old music...if you happen to have a mixtape, cd or whatever from me before the release of The Gospel Is Free let me know...individual tracks will be appreciated as well. My computer had to be re-programmed and during that process I lost some of my music.

MTC Conference, moving, and anticipated releases...

1
This past Friday I was invited to teach young men how to compose positive lyrics at the MTC Conference near Montross, Virginia. I had the opportunity to accompany my homie in an attempt to draw young men closer to Christ. I must admit that I was blown away at the response and the attitudes of these young men. They inspired me more than I inspired them, their zest for Christ was phenomenal. I have been known to rap about how nice I am or how many people I can kill lyrically but you will notice a shift in my content in the future. I will not state whether all of the material will be Christ oriented but I will state that the material will be centered around life. I would like to thank Pastor Mike Dixon, Pastor Turane, Pastor Troy Dixon, Mr. Fairley, Mr. Davis, and Bleu Flame.
As I stated on the space' page, I am in the process of moving and boy it has been a tedious process. Moving sucks but what sucks more is the fact that I can not do what I love most, and that is recording. I believe that I needed this hiatus in artistry to dwell on certain areas of my life that are in shambles and ask the Heavenly Father to give me the strength to work on those areas. New music will be recorded once I set up the lab and test out the acoustics.
This Tuesday will be a lovely day to cop an album or two with the highly anticipated release of Nas's Untitled album and The Million Dollar Backpack by Skillz. I am glad that Nas decided not to name his album the N-bomb which in my opinion would have been a horrible publicity stunt. I hope that Nas has compiled an album that showcases his legacy as a lyricist. Next I will speak on the man who inspired me to battle rap, Skillz. Skillz, formerly known as Mad Skillz, has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I have always respected him as a lyricist and I believe that he is madly underrated. Make sure that you cop both albums when they drop, also cop Reks Grey Hairs album and Elzhi's The Preface album.
Until next time...Peace and Prosperity

Check out this coverage that 33 Jones did for "The King"
33 Jones feature on Praverb...
I like to thank all the blogs that have "The King" in circulation, new music will be coming in August after I move unless I can head over to Teflon's studio (shout out to Rigamortiz wooooooooooo)...I am in a state of shock because I just found out that my old partner in crime (JC Rhymez) will quit hip hop music and focus on other avenues. To celebrate this shift in musical direction I will share with the world 3 songs that we recorded as F.B.I. (Faith Based Intellect).
F.B.I. - Got a Problem (prod. by Cold Legistics
F.B.I. - Letter to Hip-Hop
F.B.I. - It's Not Me (prod. by Noyd)
...I did various shows with Mr. Calderon and I must say that he is a very passionate performer and a courageous man of God. Letter to Hip-Hop is recorded over a Roots instrumental and Got a Problem incorporates a line by Yung Joc.
Thanks for listening

Grind My Gears: 07/01/08

Waddup Everyone,
This week I will detail certain things that really GRIND MY GEARS (hehe Family Guy reference)…
First I will talk about those who tend to support candidates based on their ethnicity or gender which I believe is bogus. If you are a real follower or advocate then you will let that nominee's political stance, most notably his or her policies, concerns, etc. fuel your decision to back them. I believe that it is very shallow to back someone "just because," think about it our society is based on this so called "just because" system and I believe we should break that mold (examples: minorities being arrested just because, Caucasians unable to use the n word just because, men being the breadwinner just because…). Just because Obama is black or Hillary is a woman should not fuel or ignite your decision-making, do some research to back your claims because if you are challenged by others you may look like a fool in a heated debate.
Next I will talk about Lil' Wayne and his rant against Djs (Deejays). Earlier this week Lil' Wayne made headlines on most hip-hop sites for dissing mixtape djs which prompted a response from Dj Doo Wop (Click Here to listen to it). I will give Wayne the benefit of the doubt, maybe he popped too many pills and syrup before his impulsive rant or maybe he has a point haha. I can understand how he can be upset that his name and songs are on numerous mixtapes but doesn't fame warrant these happenings? I mean seriously, he is probably the most visible and most talked about hip-hop artist south of Kanye West, yet he has a problem with gaining more notoriety. Didn't Wayne praise Djs (remember "Go Dj")? Wow, in my eyes Mr. Carter should focus on getting that gwop (money) and continue to tour. Go Dj that's my Dj haha whatever!!!
…If I hear another song utilizing the use of Auto tune I will seriously drown in a puddle of water.
…Lil Mama can actually spit… Need Evidence she killed it
…I finally decided to give Wale a listen and I must admit "The Kramer" is a dope track, I love the Go-Go influence in his productions…check out his Seinfeld inspired mixtape "The Mixtape About Nothing".
…Buhohohoho at my co-worker stating that Fantasia sounds like Macy Gray, I was seriously in a moment of uncontrollable laughter.
…sheesh I can continue to express my opinions but I will digress and do some homework, if you have a blog and need a contribution from me P, get at me…wooooooo
